Excursion Thursday the 17th of April 2014: Goa Lawah Temple and Kertha Gosa Pavilion in Klungkung region
This Thursday the 17th of April we´ll be taking a road trip to visit Goa Lawah Temple (also known as the bat cave temple)
and the Kertha Gosa Pavilion (heritage of Balinese architecture).
We will leave on a minibus from the Denpasar campus (Fakultas Sastra) around 9AM and will be back at the campus around 4-5 PM. Lunch with water will be provided but please take with you additional water/other drinks and snacks.
Everyone should wear their traditional costumes (bought at an earlier workshop at Pasar Sanglah or on your own time during the semester) because we will be entering the temple and taking part in praying. Please be advised that women on their period while visiting the site will not be able to enter the temple but can still take part in the excursion.
If you have any relatives or friends who want to take part in this excursion, please advise them to wear a traditional costume, too. For students this excursion is of course free of charge but others are charged a fee of Rp.100 000-200 000 for the transport and lunch. I will inform you about the price as soon as we´ve gathered a list of all the participants.
There will be a list tomorrow at campus on the noticeboard, please put a tick after your name by the end of 2nd class if you will be taking part in this excursion (and also write down the names and relatives or friends who want to take part) so we know what kind of transport and how much food to book.

Hindu Summit dinner
The province of Bali has invited 10 students to join the Hindu Summit dinner at governor Pastika´s house in Renon, Denpasar on Wednesday the 16th of April. It´s an awesome opportunity to be a part of something different than your everyday student life. The dinner starts at 6 PM, so I´ll be meeting those of you joining me on the street in front of the governor´s house at 5.45 PM. The governor´s house is located opposite of Bali Museum, close to the big monument.
On a later note I would like to thank all the students who participated. I was so proud to see all of you wearing traditional Balinese costumes!
